Juke Joint Lights up the Night

April has been a busy month. A few huge necessities off my to-do list- taxes and all the minutiae of detailing 2011's finances. A few new experiences that required a lot of running around. Last weekend we went and saw a friend's band play nearby. Called Juke Joint they had the whole house rocking. For the second set, some amazing horn players joined in and the combined talent lifted the roof with their passionate sounds. It was great to see a bunch of over 30's something dancing, swaying and tapping their feet. Such a treat to feel the passion, pleasure and fun that live music inspires.

Grey thoughts on a nice day

It's a sunny day, but not a good day. I am not really getting along with anyone beyond superficialities. I excel at that. Holding a door open, jumping up to get out of someone's way, inquiring with sincere interest as to someone else's well being. Oh, that I can do. Being thoughtful, considerate, kind, fill my plate please. Feeling like I matter, feeling any kind of self worth, feeling content- well, there you would find a raging storm that seethes within. Better to look outside, try to be what I wish other's could be, and hold my tears. At the end of the day, in a lifetime of feeling less than, nothing ever really changes.

April 4th

It's my husband's birthday combined with continued blissful weather, like a string of pearls that shimmer with delight. Blossems, clouds and family events. I discovered a stash of unused dad-themed birthday cards and now I don't even have to get in to the car to help Jacob procure a card at CVS. Not having to go anywhere for any stretch of time is much appreciated. Chores, sunlight and gift wrap. Works for me.

Spring Awakening

It's a gorgeous day full of promise and a long to do list. Tomorrow is my husband's birthday and we are celebrating tonight as well- so a busy day with the promise of some solitude to concentrate on matters at hand, and hopefully get out in the yard. When we developed the lower patio, I planted a range of ferns, bought on the cheap from Ebay or rescued from the clearance table at Lowe's. Many varieties are suddenly jumping out of the ground, and so in the spirit of sharing events large and small, I hope you enjoy these images.
